1. Spiritual Death is a nature
We have described spiritual death as separation, as faithlessness, as cluelessness about the Spirit, as being without the Holy Spirit. It is important for man to realize the importance of the spiritual and know that it overrides the natural or the physical.


2. Spiritual Death as a nature
Spiritual death is a nature. It follows mainly because the real powers operating now are just these three.
• God as a Spirit
• Satan as a Spirit
• Man as a Spirit

3. Our Relation to our Maker
Man was created by a Spirit being - God, greater than himself. He is dependent on Him for existence. If a man builds a house, he controls the house. It is important for Christians to acknowledge their maker and submit to him (because he controls his house anyway) Hebrews 3:3. By resisting his control you make your life more difficult. Romans 10:9 -10 is actually the way to submit to God.
Satan also being a Spirit usurped that position by deceit and brought man into bondage - not to God but to himself. There is a part that a man plays - your submission allows God's plans to flourish in ones life.


4. God the source of all life
God is a Spirit and is the source of life John 5:26
Satan is a Spirit and is the source of death - a nature that opposes everything that has something to do with God. Ephesians 2:1-5, John 8:44

5. What is life, what is death?
What do you understand by life? What do you understand by death. Life is a life actively sustained by God. Proverbs 4:18. Anything with life fulfills it's created purpose and becomes better and better doing so.
Death is the exact opposite. It is sustained by the devil drawing away from life (God). Interestingly they also becomes better and better at what they do. 2 Timothy 3:13. Becoming better in deception, lies, falsifying the truth, etc.

6. The tree of life/knowledge of Good and evil. Genesis 2:9,16-17
This tree teaches us a lesson. Knowing what is good and bad does not necessarily give you control and power to do what is right --- that comes from another source; the tree of Life! We have understanding now that righteousness on one hand and goodness/badness on the other are definitely from different trees (sources)


7. Man's twofold death. Genesis 2:17
Spiritual death (separated and alienated from God) is all there is.(for now)
By various forms of manifestation it destroys the physical... eventually to death in the physical. Our redefinition by separation of death into physical, spiritual and second death is to bring better understanding of the process of death. The second death is yet to happen. Physical death has happened and is yet to happen to many.
Spiritual death on the other hand can happen to people who are alive and they may carry it along even into death - physical death.

8. Identification with Adam's death
If it is easy for you to become a child of God by identifying with Jesus, there shouldn't be too much difficulty to understand how man identified with Adam's sin and Results.
Adam was the head of all creation. Adam died spiritually and all men died with him. Note many are the things we carry without actually asking for them. (We couldn't if we were asked) like the shape and look of your face usually is that of one of your parents or both. We inherit these things. Romans 5:12,17-19
It is sufficient to acknowledge that you are identified with Adam's nature and something needs to be done about that!


9. The Nature of Spiritual death
Spiritual Death is a force that is completely negative to everything God. (Good). Hebrews 2:14 the devil holds authority over death
Ezekiel 28:15 until iniquity was found in thee...

10. Opposing God results in opposing nature
Affirming God's results is an affirming nature. Proverbs 4:18, 2 Corinthians 4:16, 3:18
In addition we become more adept at what we do whether of sin which leads to death out of righteousness which leads to life eternal.
The results are the opposing forces: we have love, joy and Faith as against hate, sorrow and unbelief. Galatians 5:19-22

11. Solving human problems are better done with this understanding
One can better tackle human problems if they are addressed from the point of view of Man's fall, his Spiritual position and where his control is coming from.
In fact Adam was born into the nature of the devil. The solution is to accept Jesus.
There reverse process will start.
